Prof. Baojie He

Chongqing University, China

Biography:

Dr. Baojie He, Ph.D., is a professor at the Faculty of Architecture and Urban Planning, Chongqing University. He holds the prestigious Bayu Scholar title and is recognized as a doctoral scholar. Dr. He serves as the head of the Center for Climate Resilience and Low-Carbon Cities and conducts research at Hiroshima University's Institute for Sustainability and Peace Education in Japan. Furthermore, he has been acknowledged as a globally highly cited scientist for two consecutive years in 2022 and 2023 (Coretronic). Dr. Baojie He specializes in urban heat mitigation adaptation under global/local climate change, zero-energy buildings, and passive house design. His expertise is reflected in his extensive publication record of over 140 peer-reviewed papers in SCI and SSCI journals with an impressive H-factor of 44. Recognized for his contributions to academia, Dr. He frequently receives invitations to serve as a feature editor, chief guest editor, associate editor, editorial board member, conference chairperson, session chairperson, scientific committee member, or guest reviewer for internationally renowned journals. In recognition of his outstanding achievements within sustainability research field: Dr.Baojie received the Sustainable Young Scientist Award in 2022; Green Talent Award in 2021 (Germany); National Outstanding International Student Scholarship in 2019 (China). Additionally,he was consecutively shortlisted among the top 2% scientists worldwide from 2020 to 2023.

Prof. Seyed Mohammadreza Ghadir (Chancellor)

Swiss Information and Management Institute 

(SIMI)& Université Libérale de Paris (Paris-U), Switzerland

Biography:

Professor Dr. Seyed Mohammadreza Ghadiri is the Dean of the  Aviation Management and Logistics at the SIMI (Swiss Information and Management Institute). He is also the former Dean of the School of Transporation and Logistics and the former Head of postgraduate programs at the Malaysia University of Science and Technology. Professor Ghadiri holds a Bachelor of Civil Engineering and a Master of Structural Engineering from Iran. He obtains his Ph.D. in Highways, Traffic and Transportation Engineering in the field of Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) from the School of Civil Engineering, University of Sains Malaysia (USM). Professor Ghadiri is a multidisciplinary expert, and his main research interests focus on various fields such as Engineering, Business, and Management. He is also the guest editor, editorial board member, and reviewer of many reputable journals. Over the years, he has been invited as a guest professor of various institutions and is the keynote speaker of many international events in Asia and Europe.

Prof. Sangeeta Singh

Director at the Centre for Applied Research and 

Development at the Institute of Engineering

Institute of Engineering (IOE), Nepali

Biography:

Professor in Urban planning and the Director at the Centre for Applied Research and Development at the Institute of Engineering and teaching for 26 years. Former Member of National Planning Commission in the Government of Nepal. Is the member of the board of trustees of Gandaki University and Madan Bhandari University of Science and Technology. Holds PhD in Urban Planning (specializing in eco cities). Did M.Sc. in Infrastructure Planning from the University of Stuttgart, Germany and basic degree is Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering. In various positions at IOE, has led a number of research projects related to ecological urban planning, Disaster resilience, equitable urban resilience, sustainable development, gender mainstreaming among others and led one of the GCRF research as a city lead of the “Tomorrow’s cities” in collaboration with University of Edinburgh and others. Has been undertaking research and has published various research works especially in the field of eco city and sustainable development, and has been a visiting scholar at Kyushu University, (Japan) KU Leuven University (Belgium), and Tibet University. Apart of academic research was involved in several professional services in Engineering design and urban planning. In various positions at IOE, has led a number of research projects related to ecological urban planning, Disaster resilience, equitable urban resilience, sustainable development, gender mainstreaming among others and led one of the GCRF research as a city lead of the “Tomorrow’s cities” in collaboration with University of Edinburgh and others. Has been undertaking research and has published various research works especially in the field of eco city and sustainable development, and has been a visiting scholar at Kyushu University, (Japan) KU Leuven University (Belgium),and Tibet University. Apart of academic research was involved in several professional services in Engineering Is the Vice Chairperson of Om Adi Foundation (Foundation dedicated for social welfare)Was awarded the best presentation and secretary of the MB Singh Trust. Has won the best presentation award in the conference on Gender and Education held in Zurich,  Switzerland, Sept 13-14, 2018. Received “Dirgha Sewa Samman” from the Institute of Engineering and Tribhuvan University, “Pragya Samman” from the Institute of Engineering.

Biography:

Ali CHESHMEHZANGI is a Professor and Head of the School of Architecture, Design and Planning (ADP) at The University of Queensland, where he leads the School and researches across the fields of architecture, design, and urbanism. He has been in the World’s top 2 percent field leader since 2022, recognised by Stanford University. He is among the top 25 global scholars in the urban sustainability research area. He is Editor-in-Chief of the Urban Sustainability Book Series with Springer Nature. Ali has a wealth of experience, expertise, and a strong commitment to innovation and excellence in the fields of architecture, design, and planning, the three core disciplines of his School at UQ. With a career spanning over two decades, he has made significant contributions to the academic and professional communities, with a focus on sustainable and environmentally conscious design. Prior to joining UQ, Ali held several strategic leadership and senior managerial roles, such as Vice-President for International Engagement and Global Partnership, Founding Director and Head of the Center for Innovation in Education and Research, Head of the Department of Architecture and Built Environment, Founding Director of the Urban Innovation Lab, Director of a university-wide Teaching and Learning platform, Director of International Research Network for Rural and Urban Development, Head of Research Group for Sustainable Built Environment, co-director of university-wide research priority areas, Director of Center for Sustainable Energy Technologies, and Interim Director of Digital Design Lab. So far, Ali has published over 500 journal papers, articles, conference papers, book chapters, and reports. He also has 40 academic books mostly covering related urban sustainability research areas. Some of his previous books have received awards at the national, provincial, and municipal levels. He also has received international awards and recognition for his research on urban resilience studies and sustainability research, as well as a Vice-Chancellor’s award for his impactful contribution to higher education in 2018.
